Developmental Advocacy Services was established in January 2019 by Greg Nicholson to provide education and training for developmental services providers.
Greg is the father of three adult children, one of whom has developmental disabilities. He has been providing training and education for families, individuals, and agencies supporting people who have developmental disabilities for more than 28 years.
Prior to founding Developmental Advocacy Services, Greg worked as a Training Specialist with California MENTOR and The MENTOR Network for 18 years.
During that time he also served as a member of the California State Senate Blue Ribbon Commission on Autism, and a member of the advisory committee for the Direct Support Professional Training Program provided by a partnership of the California Department of Education and Department of Developmental Services.
Greg served as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Educational Kinesiology Foundation/Brain Gym(R) International for 6 years, and worked with individuals, families, public and private education and developmental service agencies as a Brain Gym(R) Instructor and Consultant for more than 7 years.
Greg was one of the four founding members of the Inland Regional Center Parent Steering Committee and a member of a statewide advocacy group for people with developmental disabilities and their families.
Since 1989, Greg has been an advocate for people with developmental disabilities, by working with California’s Regional Centers and Developmental Centers, State Legislators, public and private educators, and other community advocacy groups.
He remains committed to the goals of inclusion and participation in all aspects of society for people of all abilities.
Our team is eager to meet the training needs of service providers of all sizes in a variety of formats.
